Fishing Report
14/04/10
This week on the Port,with bad weather and not many people getting out, We had some quality fish on the weekend with Saturday bringing in some good sized fish.
Quail, Tyabb, Middle Spit, along with Gentle Annie and Tooradin channels were producing fish between 28cm to 44cm. South Australian Pipis were by far the best bait, with Squid and Mussels also doing well.
As far as berley, Aniseed Pellets are really bringing the fish on.
I fished on wednesday Middle spit in 8m off water to land 16 whiting to 44cm then fished thursday quail bank for 10 whiting to 42cm in 1.8m of water
Gummy Sharks are still being caught in good numbers, with the top end channels doing really well, joes island and inside channel Squid,trevall baits being the best, but a few fish have been getting caught on Eel fillet.
Elephant being caught in gentle annie ,tooradin,lyalls, right up to top end and warneet channe
Pier still producing some good quality fish with trevally, mullet, whiting,elephant fish etc. (Great idea to take the family for a fish off the pier most squid were caught on dark/natural colour squid jigs
